How I Can Help

Whether you're seeking support for your child, yourself, or your family, therapy can provide a safe place to heal, grow, and build the skills needed to navigate life's challenges. Every person is unique, and treatment is tailored to your individual needs and goals.

🧸 Play Therapy
Play is a child's natural language. Through play therapy, children can safely express emotions, process experiences, build resilience, develop coping skills, and strengthen emotional well-being.

🧠 Trauma & PTSD
Providing compassionate, evidence-based, trauma-informed care to help children, adolescents, and adults process traumatic experiences, strengthen resilience, and regain a sense of safety, hope, and well-being.

💙 Anxiety, ADHD & Emotional Regulation
Helping children, teens, and young adults better understand emotions, improve focus, and build healthy coping strategies. Using play, CBT, and other evidence-based approaches.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent & Family Support
Strengthening family relationships, improving communication, and helping parents better understand behaviors as communication of needs while supporting their child's emotional growth and development.

🌱 Life Transitions & Self-Esteem
Supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate school challenges, friendships, identity development, college, career changes, grief, and other life transitions while building confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.

🤝 Young Adult Counseling
Supporting young adults as they navigate independence, relationships, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and career or educational decisions while building confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self.

Brittany Denby, LCSW
Child, Adolescent & Family Therapist

(I promise I don’t usually make it a habit to talk about me!)

Hi! I’m Brittany

Most of us aren't sure where to start when something feels off. Sometimes we try to push through it, ignore it, or convince ourselves we should be able to figure it out on our own. But you don't have to do it alone anymore.

Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, or just feeling overwhelmed by life, we'll work together to connect the dots, better understand what's going on, and build practical tools that actually help. My goal isn't to "fix" you—it's to help you recognize your strengths, understand your experiences, and move toward healing.

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel like a place where you're genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe enough to be honest, ask difficult questions, and grow at your own pace.

I use a person-centered approach, meaning your goals, experiences, and voice guide the therapy process. I'll support you with compassion, honesty, and yes—even a little humor when it's needed. Therapy isn't always easy, but I believe it should always feel collaborative.

What I Specialize In

I have a special passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, particularly those navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, attachment, and life transitions.

Children don't always have the words to explain what they're feeling, which is why I'm passionate about the power of play therapy. Play gives children a safe way to communicate, process difficult experiences, and develop the confidence and coping skills they need to thrive.

For adolescents and adults, I tailor therapy to fit the person sitting in front of me rather than expecting everyone to fit into one treatment model.

My Clinical Style

No two people are exactly alike, so I don't believe therapy should be either.

Depending on your needs, I integrate approaches such as:

• Progressive Counting
• Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed skills
• Solution-Focused Therapy
• Motivational Interviewing
• Person-Centered Therapy

Rather than forcing one approach, I work with you to find what feels most helpful for your goals and circumstances.

My Experience

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 2023 and have worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, in-home therapy, residential treatment, and private practice.

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of challenges. These experiences have strengthened my passion for helping people heal from trauma, better understand themselves, and build healthier relationships with others and with themselves.

Outside the Therapy Room...

I believe connection is one of the most important parts of healing, so here's a little more about me.

I'm always learning and enjoy continuing my education to bring new ideas and techniques into therapy. I genuinely love helping people make sense of their experiences and discovering strengths they may not even realize they have.

I also believe therapy doesn't have to feel cold or intimidating. You'll probably hear me laugh with you, celebrate your successes (big and small), and remind you that progress isn't about perfection.

I'm truly honored you're considering allowing me to be part of your journey, and I look forward to getting to know you.
